GRABNER INSTRUMENTS introduces the new MINIDIS ADXpert, an automatic, portable and fast mini-distillation analyzer. Reliable and highly precise results make the MINIDIS ADXpert a smart alternative to classical D86 testing. MINIDIS ADXpert has a resolution about twice as good as D86 distillation units, yielding results that are well within ASTM D86 r/R requirements. The extremely versatile unit allows precise testing of various gasoline, jet fuel and diesel products (groups 0-4), biofuels, solvents, aromatics, organic liquids, chemicals and contaminated or blended samples.
MINIDIS ADXpert is an automatic distillation analyzer, designed for laboratory and field use. A distillation run on light products takes just 15 minutes and requires as little as 6 mL of sample. Because of its small size the portable mini-distillation apparatus is the ideal unit for places where limited or no lab-space is available. The analyzer incorporates automatic rinsing, sample introduction and fully automatic cleaning programs, which guarantee highest productivity and eliminate the need to do manual cleaning of glassware.

Broken glassware is one of the major reasons for fire hazards experienced when distilling with glass flasks. Because of the rugged metal housing, the sealed metal distillation cycle and the small sample volume the MINIDIS ADXpert does not need a fire protection system. Cheap and durable metal sample cups instead of expensive glass flasks significantly reduce consumable costs and make the MINIDIS ADXpert a perfect solution for distillation testing in challenging environments.
Ease of Use
Never before has distillation testing been that easy. The user presses “RUN” and is guided step-by-step through the distillation program – no prior distillation test knowledge or tedious manual studies are required. By installing the MINIWIN PC software, remote control of the instrument and full LIMS-integration is just a click away.
Problematic samples? No Problem!
Classical D86 distillation analyzers often encounter so called “problematic” samples. Mining solvents, condensates and raffinates for example cannot be measured by a D86 analyzer in most cases. MINIDIS ADXpert incorporates a versatile temperature control for a very small sample volume, which allows easy and fast heater adjustment. So even “problematic” samples can be distilled until the final boiling point is reached! The highly accurate volume detection system allows for precise and repeatable analysis of Biofuels and vegetable oils mixtures.
Setting a new standard
MINIDIS performs according to the new ASTM D7344 standard for true atmospheric distillation. Results of the MINIDIS ADXpert excellently match D86, ISO 3405, IP123 and DIN51751 results. Fully automatic measurements, the temperature controlled sample introduction and a sophisticated automatic heating program eliminate sources for D86 distillation operator bias.
